Help people connect with nature through tourism and recreation
With a B.S. in Parks, Tourism & Recreation Management from the University of Montana you will work to manage and protect sensitive resources while helping people enjoy nature. You'll graduate prepared for a professional position developing and managing nature-based recreation experiences and park resources for public land agencies, nonprofit organizations, and the nature-based tourism industry. You can choose to focus in one of three elective tracks: Recreation Resource Management, Nature-Based Tourism, or Outdoor Recreation Services.

Learn about study abroad options in India, Vietnam, Chile-Patagonia, Africa, Bhutan and New Zealand. Many of these courses have a parks, tourism & recreation focus. Funding is available for undergraduate sophomores or juniors to go to Chile and Vietnam this wintersession; Africa, Bhutan or India next summer.

All PTRM students complete a practicum in an approved parks, tourism, or recreation position. Bennett interned at Big Sky and wrote a trail maintenance plan, wrote grants for trail and park features, and taught at youth recreation summer camps.
