Support UM Geography

The Department of Geography appreciates support from students, parents, alumni and all Friends of Geography. To support what's most important to you and make an important impact on teaching and research, consider support for one of the Department's special initiatives:

The Kang Scholarship Fund was established by Darshan and Jeety Kang to offer much needed financial assistance to students majoring in Geography. A contribution to this fund helps support current students and honors the memory of Dr. Darshan Kang, a member of the Geography faculty (1972 – 1997) who passed away in September 2015.

The Harold W. Bockemuehl Scholarship is awarded yearly to an outstanding undergraduate or graduate student pursuing the Cartography and GIS option. A contribution to this fund honors the memory of Harold "Bock" Bockemuehl, a member of the Geography faculty (1971 - 1988) who passed away November 1, 2003.

The Geography Facility Improvement Fund will help improve Geography’s GIS computer laboratories and other facilities that are critical to our mission.

Unrestricted Gifts to the Geography Department assist the Geography Department in a variety of ways, including valuable program support, support for student and faculty research, conference or educational travel expenses, and much more.

If interested in making a special gift online, please designate your preference in the ‘additional information’ section below.
